... Europe. Really. Yesterday, Lars Hinrichs, founder and CEO of Xing was thinking about livetwittering - today he did:

For me, it's interesting how he is experimenting with this tool. The spokeswoman of Xing, Daniela Hinrichs, twitters also (protected) - but uses it more to connect to the community. Lars is not a heavy user on twitter but stays in his role as a CEO. So twitter for him seems to be more a real broadcast channel (I call twitter often sms broadcast if asked to explain) and not that much a conversation tool as he only sporadicly replies to other twitterers.

But this is ok - and an wonderful example how open the twitter idea is to all kinds of communications. I myself e.g. used it already several times in campaigns. And as CEO on your own AGM it may be the only possible tool to use on stage :)

(disclosure: Xing is an Edelman client in some markets)

Is it really a SMS Broadcast? Or is it maybe more a personal 140 char brain dump from people you relate to? At least for me it is actually nothing i would every write in a SMS.

Think of the difference from 1-1 (sms, email) and 1 to 729 (my twitter followers) - and it is not about 1-n communication like a blog.

I still don't really know how if i like or dislike Twitter or if it's a complete waste of time. I use twitter to communicate what is important to me and follow people in the hope of finding serendipity.

Lars, this is what I love on twitter: everyone can use it as he or she likes to. There is no right or wrong or best practice (oh, I hate that term anyway).
And as I said - I like your twitter and that you stay in your corporate role. I use it in a completely different way and enjoy the watercooler conversations with colleagues and friends all over the world.
But as Nico Lumma (http://twitter.com/rednix ) said in a (german) poston his twittercentric blog, twitter is like a new infrastructure.

Still your twitter from the AGM is a great showcase for me, thanks for that :)
