Hi everyone. This is my first time on this blog and posting here is a great challenge for me. How to live up to the best bloggers in the world like Steve Rubel, Phil Gomes and Leah Jones?? So for my debut I decided to share some links and interesting things from Brazil.
Women represent almost 50% of all Internet users in Brazil and 45% of the online shoppers. From personal blogs that talk about life, relationships and spirituality to thousands of communities on Orkut (our largest social network) about hair, female intelligence and, again, relationships, the Web in Brazil is widely pink -- and thank God with a lot of humor.
The Woman´s Purse is one of the most famous female portals. The users can blog, make friends and post discussion topics. It also includes articles about beauty, motherhood, family and financial investments. Mother´s Relief is a community where women can share stories, experiences and doubts on how to be a good mom. And their blog include two men to show their male version of parenting. The Elaspod is a female podcast about Technology and Internet trends because “women need to increase their participation on the Web”.
Yes the differences between men and women are hugely debated. Women are Indeed Stupid is one of the most popular blogs about how to put up with men. We are all a Bunch of Cows teach mothers how to raise their boys in an emancipated society and help women heal from betrayal, ex-wives and ex-husbands.
And we are not a hands-on society so Rent-a-husband is a kind of handyman that helps women have things fixed at home. But guys can´t think about letting women down or they can end up on the Don´t Go Out With Him website. Here women post profiles of men who damped them or cheated on them. So if you are thinking about coming to Brazil to find a girlfriend be careful!

Very interesting this overview about websites dedicated to women in Brazil. We do believe in the potential of this market and our goal is to help to increase women participation in the web. Thanks for the link! Sueli, Editor of Mother´s Relief (www.desabafodemae.com.br)

Brazil is going to be a very interesting country to watch and I am excited to see you on the ground there, Thiane, to share your insights! But with it being the seventh country in Internet usage - stats from ITU indicate: 42,600,000 users with a penetration of 22.8%, while its nowhere near the 70%+ penetration of the U.S., I will be very interested to watch how these numbers change. And with the population being such that there are more women, than men, it doesn't surprise me in the least that they represent the greater % of internet users. Very cool! Obrigada pelo "post" interessante!
