He was surfing the web and he saw a picture of Gisele Bündchen. What if people could buy what they see online? That’s how Marco Gomes created the boo-box, a free e-commerce/advertising tool for bloggers. It is affiliated with Amazon and eBay, as well as local companies Submarino, Mercado Livre, JáCotei and BuscaPé.
The great thing is that the blogger can choose what he wants to monetize. So the publisher decides what products should be advertised according to his text, links, videos and photos. Payment is on a cost-per-click basis. The greatest thing is that the ads are not those annoying pop-ups.
There are more than a thousand blogs using boo-box in Brazil and their earnings increased up to ten times. Gomes, a 21-year-old boy with Rastafarian hair, told us that boo-box is willing to expand and to make online advertising a great user experience. “We wanna conquer the world,” he said. boo-box is already supported by Monashees Capital and they are about to announce a partnership with WeShow. Videolog (an Edelman client) is a social network where people create relationships and express themselves through video. It was born in 2004 nine months before YouTube with no external investment. (Another dispute, like Santos Dumont and the Wright Brothers. I don’t have to say which one I choose).
Thanks to the dedication and passion of the Cariocas Ariel Alexandre and Edson Mackeenzy, Videolog grew approximately 400% in four years. It is now in high-definition and has two million visitors a month. It has a great partnership with UOL, the largest Internet portal in Latin America, and many great companies like Paramount also use Videlog to launch their products.
The users are madly in love with the service and they organize what they call “videologcamps” to meet each other and exchange ideas to improve the community. Many of them were even able to find jobs in TV channels thanks to the videos they posted for Videolog. The two boys from Rio de Janeiro are still looking for a private equity fund or someone to invest in their project.

Great post!
The Videolog video quality is impressive. I couldn't find an option for English language. It would help the use outside of Brazil.
BTW...Santos Dumont of course!

Adorei o post!
A qualidade de video do Videolog é impressionante. Não consegui achar uma opção em inglês. Isso ajudaria a propagação fora do Brasil.
Santos Dumont é lógico!
