I am absolutely thrilled to announce that we’ve just acquired Spook Media, a top London-based digital agency with expertise in Web strategy, design and production, search, online marketing, mobile communications and content development. Their clients include Seiko, British Motor Show, ExCel Exhibition Centre and Fashion Targets Breast Cancer, among others.

The group’s founder, Marcus Dyer, will become MD of Edelman Digital in the UK, working alongside Marshall Manson, the market’s head of Digital Strategy, and the rest of the UK Edelman Digital team.

We’ve been kicking butt in the UK since Michael Wiley went over there on temporary loan last fall. Long story, but we’ve literally had to rebuild the digital group from the bottom up, and in six short months, we’ve now got ourselves a business that will do over £2M this year, representing such clients as Unilever, Mars, InBev and Microsoft.

Thanks to the now-combined Spook Media + Edelman Digital UK team (including Wiley, who thankfully is back working his mojo stateside once more), our offering across the pond is now every bit as strong as that we’ve built in the US over the past 12 years.

A big shout out to Edelman’s UK CEO, Robert Phillips, for having the passion and internal fortitude to see this one through; and another to David Brain, our European CEO, who offered unending support for the deal to both Robert and Marcus since we all first met last August.

All in all, this has been a very, very good day.

Great news, Rick. Congratulations!

Thanks guys. We're really stoked; Marcus and his team do great work and the critical mass (with apologies to Armano) that this gives us in the UK will allow us to compete at a whole different level.

interesting. I have never heard of them. I'm going to have to check it out..

congrats on the new addition!!!!
