Whether it’s food, fashion or DIY, just about every type of industry has launched a Pinterest contest. Just in time for an end of the year reflection, Edelman Digital is hosting a Pinterest contest all our own.
The Fine Print
The premise is simple. Between December 3 and December 7, follow Edelman Digital on Pinterest and pin or repin your favorite Edelman Digital post from the last year to any of your boards. As a final step, email the pin URL to email@example.com. One lucky winner will randomly be selected to win a customized Pinterest shirt from the measurement service, Curalate. Who wouldn’t want to sport their Pinterest pride over the holiday season?
A Look into the World of Pinterest Measurement
Whether it’s hosting a contest or growing a community. Aside from all of the fun, defining a system of Pinterest measurement is a key to success. Below is a brief dive into some useful tools in the measurement space:
Pinfluencer – As the name states, Pinfluencer is a measurement tool that helps brands and individuals monitor their Pinterest campaigns and daily efforts. Through features that track engaged users, most popular pins, and reach, users can look beyond followers and repins to determine their Pinterest influence.
Curalate – Curalate is a measurement platform based on the concept of measuring images rather than words. Looking beyond Pinterest, it measures the reach of a pin on other social media platforms. Similar to Pinfluencer, you can track pins and users on a micro-level and full campaigns on a comprehensive level.
Google Analytics – Pinfluencer and Curalate can incorporate Google Analytics into their own measurement platforms; however, there are direct benefits that can occur straight from the Google Analytics platform. For instance, Google Analytics allows you to discover what pins are getting the most clicks back to your main site. With the importance of Pinterest as a traffic source, this is a key insight for brands and users.
Simply Measured – Simply Measured is a tool that focuses on social media as a whole, presenting individual measurement reports based on the platform of focus. Whether it’s Instagram, Pinterest or Facebook, Simply Measured takes the data that brands want to see and puts it into a report layout. Specific to Pinterest, it highlights activity over time, top pins by categories and the success rate of individual pins.
