According to a recent study by Integrated Media Measurement Inc., women in their thirties have the highest simultaneous television/Internet usage at 23.3 minutes per day, more than double that of males in the same age group.
Women tend to penetrate deeper into areas where they have the greatest interest, like health, beauty, parenting, travel and general news.
According to a survey by ShesConnected, their preferred social networks are Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and MySpace. In Latin America, women also surf on Orkut and Hi5.
Online shopping is their arena. The E-Commerce Times says that in 2010 almost 50% of social commerce strategies will be focused on attracting women.
Beauty is Key

Strong Voices
Just like the BlogHer conferences, Brazilian women have what they call LuluzinhaCamp. It started in São Paulo but now it happens simultaneously in different states, from the north to the south of Brazil. Besides having their nails done, exchanging clothes and cooking recipes, they discuss important issues like domestic violence, equal career opportunities and abortion.
Career Fighters
Women trying to find some work-life balance can rely on Womenomics, by Claire Shipman and Catty Kay. With a title inspired by Freakonomics, the book tries to give women confidence to change the workplace to their needs after decades of trying to outdo men.
CareerWomen is a portal dedicated to helping women find good job opportunities and have access to several career tips by great female executives.
Feeding The Spirit
The most important blogger in Argentina is Carolina Aguirre, from Bestiaria. The blog can be described as an interpretation of several female stereotypes, mixing literature, arts, culture, philosophy and spirituality in long texts with more than 100 comments. The blog became a book and Carolina won the Intel Prize for best arts & culture blog in Latin America.
